Goa University was established in 1985 its genesis dates back to post-Liberation era when the Post Graduate Centre of Bombay University was established in Goa in 1966.Though the Post Graduate Centre of Bombay University met the immediate requirements of Goa students at a time when educational resources and avenues in Goa were limited an acute need was felt for Goa own university that would promote interest in the lif literature languages and cultures of the people of Goa.
Envisaged as an instrument of socio-economic development and empowerment Goa University was thus established in 1985 by incorporating the then existing Centre for Post Graduate Instruction and Research of the University of Bombay.Over the past 25 years the University has steadily expanded its reach both in terms of the number of colleges affiliated as well as the diversity of courses offered.Presently the University has 24 Post Graduate departments and 3 Centres of Studies offering academic programmes leading to Masters and Ph.D degrees in various disciplines.The University also offers M.Phil and Post Graduate Diploma programmes in select disciplines.

NCERT Results 2011
National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) was established by the Government of India in the year 1961 with a view to bringing about qualitative improvement in school education in the country.No sooner the Council was set up than it mounted a number of programmes in this direction.One such programme was to identify and nurture the talented students.This programme took up the shape of a scheme called National Science Talent Search Scheme in the year 1963 which provided for the identification of talented students and awarding them with scholarships.
During the first year of the implementation of the scheme it was confined to the Union Territory of Delhi wherein only 10 scholarships were awarded to the Class XI students.In the year 1964 the scheme was extended to all the states and the union territories in the country with 350 scholarships for the students of Class XI.These scholarships were awarded on the basis of a written examination a project report and interview.
