Rebel Forces And Nato Jets Batter Stronghold Of Sirte, But Gaddafi's Son Leads Belligerent Defence -- Scotsman
REBEL forces pulled back from the Libyan city of Sirte to allow Nato jets to pound loyalist positions, a day after heavy fighting raged in the city centre.
An opposition source said the western alliance had identified artillery and rocket positions among units loyal to Colonel Muammar al-Gaddafi and wanted rebel units out of the way to allow air strikes to go in.
On Saturday, some of the most intense fighting of the war raged as rebel units battered their way into the city to link up with civilians trapped in the central First District.

My Comment: It is only a question of time before Gaddafi's last stronghold of Sirte falls, and after that .... the real hunt for Gaddafi begins.[...]
