Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has branded the discussion about Arjen Robben's reserve role at the club as "the joke of the year".
Robben has not hidden his disappointment at being left on the bench in recent matches after coming back from a month-long injury absence.
However, Bayern extended their winning streak to 10 matches while Robben was out, leading to suggestions that Bayern are actually better off without him.
However, Hoeness admitted that reading such opinions just makes him laugh.
"It is an absolute cheek from some ignorant people," he told Kicker magazine.
