Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has just today issued recruitment notification for Clerk Recruitment 2012 through IBPS for a huge vacancy of 1500 Clerks. As per the notification, the submission of online application form for IOB Clerical Recruitment 2012 has started from today (i.e. 29th June, 2012) and the last date of online registration/submission of form is 14th July 2012.

This is the 13th Clerical recruitment projects by the Indian PSU banks. Previously twelve other major PSU banks of India had issued advertisements for 16,119 clerk vacancies. Only following six banks (out of the nineteen PSU banks which had participated in IBPS CWE Clerk) are yet to issue recruitment notification/advertisements: Indian Bank, Punjab National Bank, Allahabad Bank, Central Bank of India, Vijaya Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce.

Similarly, out of the nineteen PSU banks which had participated in IBPS CWE PO, only two bank (i.e. Andhra Bank & Oriental Bank of Commerce) remains to issue recruitment advertisements. This State-wise vacancy is very important as you have to apply for the clerk positions state-wise and you should be able to read, write, speak local language of that state. Moreover you should have appeared IBPS CWE 2011 from a centre of that state for which vacancies you want to apply.

Salary (i.e. Pay-scale) offered by IOB for these Clerk positions is Basic Pay: Rs.7200 – 19300 with other benefits like DA, HRA, etc

Age Eligibility (as on 01.08.2011): Min 18 yrs, Max 28 yrs. (Relaxations exists as per Govt rule).
Educational Qualification Eligibility:
Min. 65% marks (60% for SC/ST/PC/EXSM) in Class-XII/equivalent OR
Min. 60% marks in Diploma in Banking (55% for SC/ST/PC/EXSM) OR
Min. 50% of marks (45% for SC/ST/PC/EXSM) in Graduation in any discipline.
Qualifications should be from a recognized Board/University and same should have been acquired (i.e. results declared) on or before 01.08.2011.
Other IOB Clerk Eligibility:

IBPS CWE Cut-Off for IOB Clerks:
For General category:
Min. marks in each subject individually: 24.
Min. Total weighted score (all subjects combined): 120.
For Reserved category:
Min. marks in each subject individually: 21.
Min. Total weighted score (all subjects combined): 105
Selection Process for IOB Clerks:
Based on the CWE scores of the applicants received by IOB, it is going to shortlist the candidates for personal interview. The Interview would consist of 50 marks.
Minimum qualifying marks for the Personal Interview would be 22.5 marks (20 marks for Reserved Category). Final merit list for IOB Clerk Recruitment would be prepared based on IBPS CWE mark & Interview.
